A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications team for Jaman South constituency has been given 40 strong lashes for insulting Queen Mother.

A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications team in the Jaman South constituency in the Bono Region, Isreal Kofi Baffour Asare has been lashed with 40 strong strokes of canes at the Drobo chief’s palace for raining insults on Nana Yaa Ansuaa, the Queen mother of the Drobo Traditional Area.

Per information gathered by MyFrichy.com, Mr. Asare Baffour used offensive words on the Queen Mother. This definitely did not go down well with the Traditional Council, eventually subjecting him to 40 strong strokes of canes.

Mr. Asare Baffour has warned by the Drobo Traditional Council to be of good behaviour in order to avoid being banished from the Drobo Traditional land.

The NPP leaders and the Drobo Traditional area leaders are alleged to be on bad terms. The incumbent MP for the area, Hon.Yaw Afful who lost his seat to NDC’s Hon. Okofo Darteh in the just ended general elections has already accused the Omanhene of the Drobo Traditional Area of trying to use his Traditional powers to influence his nephew Prince Marfo to win a position in the NPP.
