The Ministry of information and communication later in 2021 introduced the SIM re-registration campaign. The objective of the campaign is to eradicate fraud associated with electronic transactions through the re-registration of SIM cards with the National Identification Card(Ghana Card).
The Telecommunications networks in the country started their registration late year, but there has been so much difficulty in the registration process. People spend several hours in queues just to get their sims registered.
The Most Used telecommunications network in Ghana, MTN suffered the most from this setback in the re-registration process.
As a way of easing the stress its customers go through in the registration process has come up with an online registration process to facilitate customers register their SIM cards without going to the office or joining any long queue.
Steps to register your sim online
- Visit the MTN sim registration portal here
- Enter your phone number
- You will receive a six-digit code enter the code to continue
- You’ll be required to provide your personal information

- Upload your passport picture
