[VIDEO] Education Ministry PRO walks out of 3FM studios during discussion on expired rice saga

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng, on Monday, November 25, 2024, walked out of the studios of 3FM during a live discussion on its morning show, SunRise.

The prying eyes of Myfrichy.com daily on social media have seen a video of Mr. Kwarteng, who could not come to terms with the questions which were being posed to him by the host Johnnie Hughes, left his seat and walked out of the studios of 3FM when the host said he could not buy the explanation he was giving on the expired and repackaged rice saga.

Kwarteng, who was explaining the testing processes that went on before the said rice, could be repackaged said Hughes had already made an informed opinion on the matter based on the questions he was asking.

The Education Ministry PRO was explaining that per the letter from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), before the rice could be approved for repacking, it had to first undergo some testing.

According to him, Moshosho, the company which sold the rice, had to send it back to India for the test to be conducted, which Mr. Hughes said was problematic considering the fact that the product was going through the very company which sold it to get tested.

However, Kwarteng, who insisted the rice was not being tested by Moshosho but rather the “Indian FDA”, for the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to verify from the Indian authorities said the host was deliberately refusing to understand the issue, saying “I’m not interested in discussing this matter again because you already have your position”, and walked off the set.

This was after Johnnie Hughes had said Kwarteng’s explanation was more confusing than he thought.
